My name is Ricky Cox. I was born in Talulah, Louisiana and rasied on the Eastside of Fort Worth, TX. I attended Eastland Elementary, Glencrest Middle School, Forest Oak Middle School, O.D. Wyatt High School, and Wiley College.I have been married to my beautiful wife Debra Cox of 35 years and I have 2 sons, 1 daughter, and 12 grad kids. My grandkids keep me busy. I am Race Director of the Trinity 5000 Summer Series, Panther City Half Marathon & 5K, CRC Thanksgiving Day Run, CRC Christmas Day 5K, New Year's Eve 5K, and the CRC 4th of July 5K.  I am also Co-Owner of Cox Racing Services, a local production and timing company. The community has been amazing to me! I cannot stress how big of an impact running has had in my life. I have been running since my junior year in high school (O.D. Wyatt High School).

I decided to take running serious a couple of years after I graduated from high school. Since then I have ran and competed in over 1,000 local and national races. I won the Cowtown Marathon 3 times (82', 83', & 86') and qualified for the Olympic Trials in 1984. I have rans several major marathons including, Dallas, Houston Marathon, Chicago Marathon, New York Marathon, and Boston Marathon. My PR in the Marathon is 2:17:26 (Boston), Half Marathon – 1:06:41, 10K- 29:48, 5K – 14:39 and Mile – 4:11. I still enjoy running and staying fit. I still participate in a few local races to go out and have a great time. I understand I am over 50 years old so I know my days of blistering fast running and PR’s are behind me. But I still enjoy training with my son and averaging 30-40 mile a week.
